A 230mm friction surface delivers noticeably more contact area and thermal mass than the factory unit. With the same clamp load it transmits more torque, while heat is spread over a larger area — so the coefficient of friction stays stable instead of dropping off during sustained high-load driving. The single-disc layout also keeps overall stack height and weight in check, requiring no modification to the gearbox internals.
At 7300 N (approx. 745 kgf / 1642 lbf), clamp load is far above the factory clutch. On an L15B7 running an ECU remap, intake and exhaust, or a piggyback module, the first thing to give out is the stock clutch — revs flare under full throttle, road speed stops matching engine speed, and burnt-friction smell follows. 7300 N is built to fix exactly that. Critically, the added clamp load does not come with a proportional increase in pedal effort, keeping left-leg fatigue manageable in everyday driving.
Sintered metallic friction material holds a stable coefficient of friction at elevated temperature, resisting heat fade far better than stock organic material. It also wears more slowly, maintaining consistent friction performance through repeated hard-driving cycles — which means fewer gearbox removals and lower long-term cost.
Repeated rev-matched downshifts and full-throttle corner exits generate a lot of heat through constant clutch engagement. Sintered metallic fade resistance plus the ventilated aluminum cover keeps pedal feel consistent through a full mountain run or track day — no "gets slippier the longer you drive" syndrome.
The lightweight flywheel makes rev-matching easier, and the push-type layout reuses the factory hydraulic system, so overall driving feel stays close to stock — just with far greater torque headroom. Ideal for owners who commute on weekdays and hit the track on weekends.
If you drive a manual L15B7 and are planning a power upgrade
Rather than waiting for the stock clutch to slip, build the drivetrain properly at the same time as the power upgrade and avoid paying for a second gearbox removal later.
Not suitable for: extreme power output beyond the rated capacity (step up to a multi-disc kit), CVT / automatic models, or heavy towing and commercial fleet duty.
What material is the disc, and is it sprung?
Precision high-temperature ceramic friction material (not organic) with a spring hub (sprung hub). Ceramic holds a stable friction coefficient at high temperature and resists fade; the torsion spring damper absorbs engagement shock to reduce driveline harshness and gearbox impact.
